Travis P. Brinton is an attorney in the firm’s Charlottesville, Virginia office in the Business Department. His practice focuses on advising business owners in navigating complex legal disputes, contract matters, and risk management. Mr. Brinton brings a broad litigation background, representing clients in high-stakes matters and providing strategic advice on issues spanning civil litigation, contractual disputes, and regulatory compliance. Prior to joining Musick Peeler, Mr. Brinton built a litigation practice in Charlottesville focused on criminal defense and family law, in which he successfully represented hundreds of clients in child custody, divorce, felony and misdemeanor charges, and other matters.

Mr. Brinton began his legal career as a Judge Advocate in the U.S. Air Force, where he spent the first eight years of practice in a variety of roles including prosecuting courts-martial, advising commanders on civil and criminal matters, and serving as a Special Victims’ Counsel. 

Mr. Brinton earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and holds a B.A. in Political Science from Brigham Young University. He is admitted to practice in Virginia and is fluent in Spanish, with conversational abilities in German and French.
