Richard Capella and Adam Wieder Prevail in Real Estate Trial

08.20.2012

Richard Capella and Adam Wieder prevailed in a trial in which the firm represented a residential landlord and his companies, who were sued by one of their tenants. The tenant had asserted 19 causes of action against each of the defendants and sought over $1 million in damages. The landlords cross-complained, seeking to recover almost one year of unpaid rent. After a 3-day trial, the Court entered a defense verdict as to each cause of action in the tenant’s Complaint. On the Cross-Complaint, the Court entered judgment in favor of the landlords and awarded them over 90% of the back rent owed, along with attorneys’ fees and costs.
