Dan Woods, a Partner in Musick Peeler's Los Angeles office will be presenting 'Log Cabin Republicans v. United States' at the Riverside County Bar Association event on Friday, November 15, 2019.  The event entitled "Historic Civil Liberties Matters in Riverside County History" focuses on four significant civil liberties matters that are part of Riverside County history.  As lead counsel for Log Cabin Republicans, Dan won the trial in federal court in Riverside in which Judge Virginia Phillips declared 10 U.S.C. §654 (commonly known as Don't Ask, Don't Tell) unconstitutional and issued a worldwide injunction against its enforcement.  That decision led to Congressional repeal of the law that discriminated against openly gay and lesbian members of the Armed Forces.
