Robert M. Zeller is a senior partner at Musick Peeler & Garrett LLP’s Los Angeles office. Mr. Zeller has extensive experience in general business, real estate and financing matters involving office, commercial and industrial real estate, including purchase and sale transactions, exchanges, leasing, and financing. In the financing area, Mr. Zeller has been involved in diverse transactions representing portfolio lenders, banks, CMBS lenders, and borrowers in complex lending transactions involving real property, including acquisition financing, refinancing, loan workouts, HUD, and New Market Tax Credit vehicles.
Mr. Zeller received his A.B. degree in economics from UCLA, graduating magna cum laude and being elected a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He received his law degree from UCLA in 1975, where he was selected to serve as a judicial extern for the United States District Court, and where he was a member of Law Review. Following graduation from law school, Mr. Zeller served as a judicial clerk for the California Court of Appeal.
He has lectured and written on real estate financing topics, including articles for the California State Bar Journal, California Real Estate Journal, Mortgage Finance Magazine and CMBA Legal News.
Mr. Zeller is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell and has been designated a Super Lawyer by Super Lawyer Magazine in 2005, 2006, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2016.
Mr. Zeller’s community activities include service on the City of West Covina’s Environmental and Waste Management Commission, Planning Commission and Personnel Commission. He has also served as President of Atid Hebrew Academy, Chair of the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles (Eastern Region) Community Relations Committee, Education Committee and Leadership Development Committee, and as a Board Member and Secretary of the Jewish Federation for the San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys.
