Lawrence A. Tabb
Lawrence A. Tabb is a partner in the Firm's Los Angeles office. His primary practice focuses in the area of insurance counseling and litigation with an emphasis on complex disputes. He has been involved in some of the largest insurance matters throughout California, involving any number of different types of claims such as asbestos, silica, various hazardous materials, and sexual abuse claims. In addition to extensive litigation experience, Mr. Tabb has been involved in resolving complex insurance coverage disputes between primary and excess insurers.
Mr. Tabb has written articles on insurance law relating to, among other things, the duty of an excess insurer to ”drop down”, Directors and Officers Liability Insurance, Insurance Coverage for Failed Financial Institutions, California Insurance Code Section 533 and coverage for “loss of use” claims. Mr. Tabb has also given presentations regarding various aspects of the California Fair Claims Settlement Regulations, the duty to provide independent counsel pursuant to California Civil Code Section 2860 and a primary insurer’s liability for the failure to settle.
