Experience

James W. Miller is a partner in the firm's Los Angeles office. Prior to private practice,  Mr. Miller was a Deputy District Attorney with the Los Angeles District Attorney's office.  Mr. Miller is a general trial attorney engaged in business litigation involving all phases of pre-trial, trial and appellate proceedings in both state and federal courts concerning contracts, securities, trade secrets, and other business disputes.  He also has extensive experience in defending accountants.  Over Mr. Miller's thirty years of litigation experience, he has been involved in cases which have resulted in numerous published appellate decisions both in state and federal court, including a Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal decision which was a case of first impression in the area of copyright law.

Mr. Miller is admitted to practice before all state and federal district courts in California, the United States Court of Appeal for the Ninth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Miller is a member of the American Bar Association, Federal Bar Association and Los Angeles County Bar Association.
