DAVID S. BOYCE
David Boyce practices primarily in the areas of state and federal taxation and business law, including tax planning and tax controversy representation. His areas of practice include taxable and tax-free acquisitions, partnerships, corporations, cooperatives, exempt organizations, individuals, real estate, international joint ventures, and the IRS offshore voluntary disclosure program.
Mr. Boyce is certified as a specialist in taxation law by the California Board of Legal Specialization. While studying for his Master of Laws degree in taxation, Mr. Boyce served as Attorney-Adviser to Judge Howard A. Dawson Jr., United States Tax Court (1977-1979).
Mr. Boyce has been a frequent lecturer on tax matters and has taught in the graduate tax programs of Loyola Law School Los Angeles, the University of San Diego College of Law, and Golden Gate University. Courses taught and speaking engagements include corporate tax, corporate reorganizations, taxation of partnerships, executive compensation, characterization and timing of income, taxation of property transactions, and international joint ventures.
Mr. Boyce is listed in Best Lawyers in America,and in Super Lawyers Magazine Southern California Edition, and received the AV preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell. He is a member of Sections of Taxation of the LA County Bar Association, the California State Bar, and the American Bar Association, and served on the Executive Committee of the Section of Taxation of the California State Bar. His academic honors include Beta Gamma Sigma, Order of the Coif, and Law Review Articles Editor.
