JENNIFER C. KALVESTRAN
ASSOCIATE
ExperienceJennifer Kalvestran is an associate in the firm's Los Angeles office, specializing in the areas of complex business litigation and insurance coverage matters. She is involved in all aspects of trial practice, including participating in mediations, depositions and court hearings; drafting court pleadings and motions; and researching a wide variety of legal issues. Ms. Kalvestran also provides in-depth, written coverage opinions to clients, which include recommended courses of action based upon those coverage opinions. Upon graduation from law school in 2000, she worked as a law clerk for one year with the Honorable Karen Asphaug, District Court for the State of Minnesota, First District in Hastings, Minnesota. Ms. Kalvestran then clerked for the Honorable Gordon Shumaker, Minnesota Court of Appeals in St. Paul from February 2001 to August 2002. Before moving to California, Ms. Kalvestran was an active member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, where she was a council member and was 2005-2006 chair of the International Business Section, and editor of the Section’s newsletter, International Business Law News. In addition, she was the 2004-2005 chair of the Section's International Business Law Institute (CLE). Ms. Kalvestran was also a member of Minnesota Women Lawyers, where she was a past committee chair of Member Services. Ms. Kalvestran is admitted to practice before all California and Minnesota state courts, the United States District Courts for the Central District of California, the Northern District of Ohio, the District of Minnesota and the United States Court of Appeal for the Ninth Circuit. Ms. Kalvestran studied abroad in France during her undergraduate work. She speaks French fluently. Ms. Kalvestran's publications include:
