Experience

Daniel Lorenzen’s practice involves estate planning, tax, and business transactions including financing and mergers & acquisitions. Mr. Lorenzen is also a member of the firm’s Pacific Rim practice group and advises Japanese business clients in that capacity.

On the estate planning side, Mr. Lorenzen has represented clients in providing a full range of estate planning services including the drafting of trusts and wills, business succession planning, and income, estate and gift tax planning. Mr. Lorenzen has also represented trustees and executors in various aspects of the administration of trusts and estates, and has participated in the settlement and litigation of disputes between trustees, beneficiaries, and third parties.

In the M&A arena, Mr. Lorenzen has represented clients on the buying and selling sides of business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions and financing. Mr. Lorenzen has advised Japanese business clients on various aspects of their U.S. operations and is proficient in oral and written Japanese, holding a Level II certificate on the Japanese Business Proficiency Test administered by the Japanese Trade Ministry.

Mr. Lorenzen has been active in civic and charitable organizations, including serving as Co-Chair of the Planned Giving Council for California State University Channel Islands and is an active member of the Southern California Japan America Society.
