ExperienceLeonard E. Castro is a partner in the firm's Los Angeles office and has represented companies in federal and state securities issuances, including initial public issues of common stock, debentures, bonds and other forms of debt and equity securities. These have included New York Stock Exchange listings and California Educational Facilities Authority bond issues. He has counseled numerous publicly-traded corporations in areas of corporate finance, antitrust, mergers, acquisitions and general business matters. He has negotiated and has had primary responsibility for a substantial number of joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, in a variety of industries, including mining, manufacturing, oil and gas, and insurance. Mr. Castro is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States. Mr. Castro has significant experience in a variety of business-related fields, including mining law (land rights, exploration, entity formation, ore/product sales, governmental relations and environmental issues) and banking law (organization and capitalization). He has been a contributing author to CEB-California publications: Forming and Operating California Limited Liability Companies, Selecting and Forming Business Entities, Advising California Nonprofit Corporations , and Business Buy-Sell Agreements. Mr. Castro has lectured extensively on corporate and business law topics. His biography appears in Who's Who in America , and Who's Who in American Law .
