Musick Peeler CAREERS INNOVATIVE EXPERIENCED ACCESSIBLE

ASSOCIATE RESPONSIBILITY
Musick Peeler offers new associates a number of unique opportunities. First, new associates have the option of spending their first year rotating through several of the firm's groups before choosing a practice discipline. This rotation allows them to explore different substantive areas, as well as various practice styles. Second, Musick Peeler's working attorney structure ensures that new associates are promptly introduced to the practice of law and given significant responsibility for the conduct of each file. Since the firm staffs most cases with only one partner and one associate, new associates are exposed to all aspects of a case from the outset. Third, Musick Peeler conducts semi-annual reviews to monitor the progress of all associates and works to ensure that they are introduced to the practices and procedures necessary for professional growth. Fourth, associate compensation is determined not only on length of service with the firm, but also on a merit-based tier system, which permits flexibility in the compensation of attorneys whose performance is deemed outstanding.

The billable standard expected of all associates is 1900 hours per year. Musick Peeler encourages, and indeed expects, associate involvement in the firm's administrative functions.
